Race Report: Woodville NZGP
Rider: Richard Pearce 29
Team: Team Green/Tony Jury M/cs
Bike: Kawasaki kx65
On Friday 29 January the 9-11years 65cc were allowed to ride the Senior track as a demo race. First time I have had a ride on this track so I had butterflies. Practice I rode like a nana, but when it came to race time I got a good start but got squashed in the first corner, by the end of the race I had worked my way up to 11th place out of 33 bikes, I was happy with that.
On Saturday there were 52 enteries in my class so we had to go out and qualify. I was in the A group which went out last. I took off last so I wouldnt get mixed up with the riders and waited until I got past the caravan and took off as fast as I could to get a fast lap in hoping to make it the top 30, I qualified 9th.
Race 1: Butterflies setting in until I start my bike. I was in the top five around the first corner, and I stayed there for the race.
Race 2: Another great start. My bike was flying and I ended up 4th.
Race 3: We were suppose to have 4 races but they had to cut it back as we were running behind time for the simple reasons of watering the track and maintenance, so 3rd and last race of the day. Another great start but got pushed to the outside only losing 1 spot. I was having a great ride until I fell off which put me back, but thats part of it and I got back on and battled up to 11th place.
At the end of the day I finished 7th overall, I was a little bit angry for falling off but I went and tried my best and thats the way motorx goes.
I would like to thank MOMCC for putting on another great event and to all my supporters that cheered me on.
