we are planning on running MX1 (overs) & MX2 (unders)classes for senior as we have in the past. At the end of the day it comes down to the riders skill. You only have to look at the international races at Woodville and SummerX to see that the 450's dont dominate. Barring the fact that the top riders happen to ride 450's cos thats what they are expected to ride. FIM MX2 winniers have to go up to MX1 from now on. There's some food for thought.

The Makuri School Trail ride was an awesome ride again, wonderfully organised, very professional! Good feed, good ride, good weather (if you are into sunshine!). Well done.

We are talking now about what everyone thinks not just the the opinions of the entrenched "we've always done it that way" crew. Of course it it to late to change it this season. ps There was nothing minuted about that 'discussion'. Whoever is on the committee next year will at least have the opinion of the general club members to base any decision for next season if it is discussed here (and elsewhere) before that start of next season.
b292 on Saturday 19 January 2008 - 17:01:21
it is to late now to look at dropping a round. we talked about this last year and all said it was a six round series so all rounds counted.

stu#290 on Friday 18 January 2008 - 14:03:53
Grasshoppa is quite right. With drop a round the average clubman rider doesn't have much hope of getting on the podium against the top riders. Last year a rider only done 5 rounds and still finished second in class, only one point behind first place, a few points ahead of third. First and third did all 6 rounds. Drop a round could be better for the club, but not necessarily for the average rider. Depends more on how the series plays out.
jimmy on Thursday 17 January 2008 - 09:42:39
As far as droping a round goe's, lets think about all the other off road series around the country. Im sure you can drop a round in all of them, why not at the bush riders rounds, it makes sence doesn't it. i think its a good!

This is just one of several issues that manage to slip past the bushriders meeting *debates*, there hasnt exactly been a lot of "waiting till now" going on. However its really good to hear everyones point of view and get this debated by those that matter - the riders!
hully on Tuesday 15 January 2008 - 21:44:34
This is my (Lisas) thoughts only - you guys have had since May 2007 to make changes to and decide how to run this series, why have you waited til now once the series has started to debate this?? and if winning or doing well in the BR XCountry series is such a priority, dont go to the other events. As for crashing, it can happen to the best and we all know it sux but as long as you guys are doing the speeds your doing its a risk that is part of the sport. I say get the feedback now and make the appropriate decision before the next series.
Grasshoppa on Tuesday 15 January 2008 - 16:01:38
Wont worry me either way as ride for fun now but i think making all rounds count can encourage clubman level riders as they usually dont have outright speed to compete on equal footing over series......

Any chance we can have some results from the Central XC Series posted, seems to be no results from Round 3 and no Series Results posted at all, riders need to know where they stand overall, otherwise it is not worth them carrying on with the series
